Cottleville Fire District Firefighters respond to a residential fire at 5 Airline Drive in St. Charles County.

At 2pm today, Cottleville Fire District firefighters, along with Central County Fire and Rescue, the St. Charles Fire Department and St. Charles County Ambulance District responded to a residential fire at 5 Airline Drive off Caulks Hill Road in St. Charles County. First in crews encountered heavy fire in a back bedroom, but were able to quickly contain and control the flames.

 

The family was home, but in the backyard when the fire started. No one was injured. The home sustained significant smoke and heat damage estimated at $100,000 plus.

 

Investigators have deemed the fire accidental, but have not released an official cause.
