May 27, 2014

A women is in the hospital being treated for life threatening injuries from smoke inhalation after she was rescued from a mobile home fire last Sunday morning around 9 am.

The Cottleville Fire District was the first to arrive on the scene and were met with heavy smoke coming from the mobile home that was located at the T. K. Mobile Home Park in Weldon Spring. As firefighters arrived on scene, they discovered a woman was still inside the home. Firefighters had to force a locked front door to make entry, they quickly searched the residence and located the women in an interior room with its door locked. Firefighters forced entry to the room and found the women confused and disoriented. The fire crew quickly rescued her and her dog from the structure.

She was treated on the scene and transported to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis County by the St. Charles County Ambulance District. At last report, the women was reported in critical condition. The dog ran from the scene and its condition is unknown at the time of this release. Fire crews remained on the scene for several hours as the State Fire Marshall and St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department conducted their investigation.
